Girls just wanna have fun!
Julia is growing like a weed and will be 4 months old this week! She has had many outings lately including an afternoon with the girls, a barnyard picnic and her first airshow! She giggles when you tickle her and plays this game of mimicking you when you stick your tongue out and "razz". She also had a taste of some mashed bananas tonight, which she seemed to enjoy. The poor thing practically salivates when she watches you eat-she is dying for some real food! The boys still continue to fight over who gets to "play" with her and still no signs of jealousy. She is losing all her pretty dark hair and is growing in lighter just like the boys did. Hopefully it will grow in quick to hide all her bald spots. Enjoy the pictures!

Video on Good Nutrition
Please take some time to watch this interesting video that features Dr. Neal Barnard, who I did some freelance work for last year to help promote his latest book on nutrition. My good friend Stacey G. works for his company PCRM. I think it is pretty neat that he was on the Ellen Show!
Here's a link to the the clip:http://www.pcrmvideo.org/ellenshow/eshow.wmv
He does a good job of explaining some of the reasons that I avoid meat or dairy products.
Hope it inspires you...

Recent Photos of the kids, etc.
I've been bad about keeping current with recent photos of the kids, so here are a bunch. We enjoyed the Wings Wheels and Ducks event at the Stafford Airport this weekend and Scott flew kids for the Young Eagles rally. He had a blast! Chase went earlier with him and was a good co-pilot until things got busy. We are going to try and take a short flight with Julia soon- we just need to make the time. Also my Mom is doing well with her chemo treatments. She gets tired but is feeling pretty strong. I am so proud of her-she is such an inspiration. Please continue to keep her in your prayers-it's working!

The End of the Pudding Cup!
Well my Maternity leave is officially over and I will be heading into work tomorrow. The ten weeks really flew by fast! Our sitter Kristin will be watching Julia tomorrow. It is a big step because it's the first time we have left her alone with anyone. I trust her completely but I'm still a little nervous. Julia is doing wonderful. She is getting so big! She is 13 lbs and in the 93% percentile for her age! She is still sleeping through the night which is such a blessing. We are starting to see her personality come out and she is a pretty happy baby. In the morning she is smiling and cooing when we get her from her crib. She is holding her head up pretty well so we have been able to start putting her in the exersaucer so she can sit upright. She likes to be a part of what is going on and she has started to fight sleep during the day so she won't miss anything. The boys are doing well so far in school and they seem to like their teacher. They still love riding the bus and it is nice not to have to drive them to pre-school anymore. We do miss Hazelwild though. They went to a birthday party a few weeks ago there and got to ride horses and play in a water slide. It was fun to be back since camp was over and we look forward to going back for the fall festival. Wish me luck this week-it will be a long one!

Kindergarten Kids!
The boys started Kindergarten today! They were very excited and up and dressed by 7 am! They got a little nervous right before going to the bus stop but no tears! It was so cute to see them get on the bus and they were excited to finally join their neighborhood friends! They started cheering when the bus came around the corner :) I actually followed the bus just to make sure they got to school. (I know I could not help myself). We are so proud of them and still can't get over how quickly time flies! Julia will be heading to Kindergarten too before we know it. And speaking of the little angel- she has slept through the night 3 days in a row-I probably just jinxed it but it has been so nice not to have to get up in the middle of the night. Hope it lasts! Also on some good news my Mom's cancer has not spread so we are very relieved! She starts intensive chemo next week so please continue to keep her in your prayers to keep her strong and healthy during these treatments. My Dad is also feeling alot better and hopefully will be able to avoid surgery. He will have further tests to rule out any other issues. I posted some pics from the boys big day! Enjoy and congrats to all of our friends who survived getting their kids off to Kindergarten today!

Julia is 7 weeks today!
Hard to believe it has been 3 weeks since our last post! Alot has been going on I suppose. Julia is doing great- she is so alert, smiling, cooing and the past three nights sleeping 5-8 hours straight! We switched her to a organic soy formula so not sure if this is contributing to her sleeping so well at night? The Isomil soy formula she was on had sugar as an ingredient and the organic stuff does not, so were thinking this might be helping?! Why do they have to put sugar in formula anyway? The stuff is not cheap but if it helps her sleep through the night then it is so worth it! She is getting big too, as you can see from the pictures she is quite a handful in the boys laps. They just adore her, and can even play peek-a-boo with her, she laughs and you can tell she loves them just as much! She has been a joy especially during some difficult times with my Mom and Dad. My Mom has breast cancer again (the third time). She had surgery almost 2 weeks ago and removed the tumor and lymph nodes. She has stage 3 and will start chemo in a few weeks. She is recovering slowly from the surgery but is in good spirits. She will have further tests to see if there was any spreading so please keep her is your prayers that it did not metastasize. My Dad also started having health issues a week ago will have further tests this week to find out the underlying cause. I have been visiting with them in NOVA quite often, so it has left little time for anything else. Scott's mother was gracious enough to come out to help watch the kids so I could spend time with them. Now that my Mom is feeling better though she and my Dad have enjoyed seeing the boys and Julia, so we will be making the trip up there as much as possible. Thank goodness I am not working yet and Scott has Thursdays and Fridays off so we can help them out. Anyway, Julia is crying so gotta go, but I'll post more soon.

Julia is 4 weeks!
In some ways it has gone by fast and in other ways it seems like forever, especially when you are so sleep deprived. It will be nice when she is sleeping more than 6+ hours a night. She is still eating like a champ and every 3 hours! We've had a few nights where she has gone more than 5 hours but then last night it was every 3. The boys still love their sister except when she cries and they can't hear the t.v. :) They are trying to be helpful with her but they still can't get used to being quiet around her. Not sure they ever will? Anyway I still can't believe they will be starting Kindergarten in 4 weeks! They are very excited to ride the big boy bus with their friends. I will go back to work Sep 12 so it will be nice to have a little more time after they start. Here are some fun pics that Scott took. Enjoy!
